The choppy lake waters at Bluffers Park turned deadly Saturday night.
Two men, brothers, drifted 70 yards off shore.
Emergency crews, already in the area responding to another call, began rescue efforts.
According to Toronto Police Duty Inspector Stacey Davis, one of the two men,a 30-year-old, later washed up on shore.
" Life-savings measures were attempted. The individual was transported to hospital where he has been pronounced."
Insp. Davis also confirmed the other brother, a 23-year-old, was not found, prompting rescue efforts from multiple sources.
"We're still searching the shore lines. We do have Toronto Fire, we have the Coast Guard out looking, Trenton Air Force Base. Our Marine Unit, our drones are out with the infrared, so we are searching the shore line in attempts to locate the 23-year-old brother."
Recovery efforts resumed Sunday morning.
The rescue came not long and not far from another rescue that involved many of the same units.
A 10-year-old boy was in distress in the same waters at Bluffers Park.
Two men, both reported to be in their 30's, jumped in to try and save him.
The boy was rescued, suffering only some bruising.
Both men suffered non-life threatening injuries, but one of the two was hospitalized.
Both those rescues followed the discovery of a body near the marina at Bluffers Park.
A boater spotted the body at around 5:15 p.m. and called police.
Police confirmed the body was already in a state of decomposition.
The death is being treated as suspicious, until a post-mortem is conducted.
