More winter weather has arrived in Toronto.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto, the GTA and southern Ontario.
It says a Colorado low is tracking towards Southern Ontario.
Snow will continue in the overnight hours into Saturday morning.
Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres are likely with a few locales receiving 10 to possibly 15 cm.
According to the weather agency, the snow will change to rain sometime Saturday but will then transition back to snow by the arrival of nightfall with the potential for several more centimetres of accumulation.
Environment Canada meterologist Arnold Ashton told NEWSTALK1010 about 11 centimetres of snow fell Friday into early Saturday morning.
"It's going to continue on-and-off throughout the day but the bulk of it has occurred," said Ashton.
The city of Toronto tweeted out Saturday morning that plows had been out on main roads since 3 a.m. and on local roads since 6 a.m.
Plowing of local roads commenced at approx 6am and will continue until approx 10pm
