If you've ever been in the Finanical District's underground PATH system, confusing may be a word that has come up. Now the Toronto Finiancial District BIA wants you to have an easier time getting places with their new map and signage.
The prototype has been finalized and full installation is scheduled for Spring 2018.
A news release from the Toronto Financial District BIA says more than 200,000 people use the network everyday that includes 1,100 shops and restaurants. Prototype maps have been installed in August in Royal Bank Plaza.
“If the public knows anything about the PATH, they know that it’s difficult to get around for new users,” says Grant Humes, Executive Director of the Toronto Financial District BIA.
“Improvements we’ve made with the new map will help build confidence for those new users. Buildings and PATH connections are represented more accurately and it should help users avoid getting lost. The signage is now tied to final destinations, as in ‘this way to the waterfront,’ as opposed to building-to-building connections.”
Humes says “Our ultimate goal is to make the PATH easier to use.”
