The company that operates and maintains Highway 407 is out with a new schedule of rates.
New prices and fees take effect on February 1st, 2018 and will see a modest increase to the cost of the average trip, compared to the formula used in 2017.
The monthly fee to lease a transponder, along with the Monthly Video Account Fee, are headed up by 5 cents (from $3.90 to $3.95).
Fees for taking a car or light truck onto the 407 without a transponder will also rise by 5 cents (from $4.10 to $4.15)
The yearly Transponder Lease stays the same, at $23.50.
Fees for additional transponders will remain frozen, too.
You can also expect your 407 bill to look a little different, with Trip Toll Charges now appearing at the front of the document.
Fees for Light and Heavy vehicles will stay the same as they were in 2017.
Per-kilometer usage rates are up slightly across the card, with increases affecting travel during all times of day.
Kevin Sack, VP of Marketing and Communications for 407 ETR, says rate increases are a way to manage traffic, as well as to offset increased costs of maintenance and expansion.
"We've spent over $1.6 billion dollars to both extend the highway and to keep widening it," he says.
407 ETR added 21 kilometres of new lane to the highway last year, as part of more than 240 kilometres of new lanes over the last decade.
The company offers an online trip calculator that can determine how much you can expect to pay for a trip on the 407.
