There is a new community-led push to bring Kaden Young home.
The three-year-old was swept down the swollen Grand River near Orangeville early on February 21. Searches by Ontario Provincial Police and hundreds of volunteers haven't turned up any sign of the toddler.
Kaden was in the family van when his mother drove around a road block on that fateful morning. River water that had washed over the road swallowed the van. Kaden's mother managed to get him out but lost her grip on him in the strong current.
While OPP continue to search for Kaden, their efforts have scaled back.
Tow truck driver Richard Croft is behind a search party expected to be hundreds of people strong as they scour some 13 km of terrain
"We need to bring Kaden home, Kaden is my focus."
Croft says his is a tight-knit community pulling together.
"Some of us know the family, some of us don't...but that has nothing to do with it. It really has to do with this three-year-old boy that's lonely. We need to bring him home."
Saturday's search party will meet at 9 a.m. at 9 Mill St in Waldemar.
