Toronto city officials have announced that the New Year's Eve celebrations at Nathan Phillips Square have been shortened because of the extreme cold expected.
The events were supposed to start at 8 p.m., but have now been pushed to just before midnight.
The temperature is expected to drop to -22 Celcius Sunday night.
Officials say that the event will start shortly before midnight with a live DJ set, followed by a countdown to the fireworks display at midnight.
