As your commute gets longer and longer, NEWSTALK 1010 is taking new steps to try and get you moving.
NEWSTALK 1010 is the first radio station in Toronto to join forces with Waze, one of world's best known traffic apps.
Waze crowdsources drive details from users currently on the roads and NEWSTALK 1010 will now have access to Waze Complete Traffic Intelligence to help you decide if you should take the highway or stay on local streets.
Listeners will now be getting information from NEWSTALK 1010's traffic reporters that is more accurate, comes in more quickly, and truly captures the real-time picture of the drive.
As of Wednesday, NEWSTALK 1010 will have access to real-time information from the approximately 900,000 people in the GTA who drive with Waze.
"As soon as a traffic delay happens, NEWSTALK 1010 will be able to report on it," says NEWSTALK 1010 program director Mike Benedixen."Without doubt Toronto has become one of the worst cities for traffic congestion and our listeners rely on us to help ease their daily commutes. Waze for Broadcasters empowers us with real-time traffic news so we have a deeper understanding of traffic and road conditions and can share these valuable insights with our listeners."
NEWSTALK 1010 Timesaver Traffic airs every 15 minutes every hour at :00, :30, :15, :45, with breaking updates as conditions change.
