There's another heartbreaking story to bring you out of the tragic shooting on the Danforth.
One of the victims shot may never walk again, all because she was trying to help the injured.
31 year-old Danielle Kane is a nursing student and was inside a restaurant on Sunday when a person ran in yelling that someone had been shot.
Kane and her boyfriend, who works in an ER, bolted towards the door to see if there was anything they could do.
At that moment, the shooter was right outside the restaurant and fired shots in their direction. One of the bullets shattered one of Kane's verterbrae, and punctured her diaphragm and stomach.
Multiple surgeries later, Kane is expected to survive but may never walk again.
Her family has set up a GoFundMe page, asking for donations.
