Residents in a Mississauga neighbourhood were woken up by gunshots early Saturday morning.
Peel police responded to multiple calls of gunshots heard in the area of Lorne Park Road and Truscott Drive at around 5:13 am.
Police zeroed in on a residence, contacted those inside, but the occupants refused to cooperate or evacuate the premises.
According to Peel Police Cst. Mark Fischer, the tactical unit was brought in and after a standoff, eventually got the unknown number of occupants out.
"Several parties, it wasn't until around 10 o'clock this morning that all the occupants were brought out of the house."
Fischer also confirmed to Newstalk 1010 that some of those occupants were arrested and are being investigated for their involvement in the incident. No injuries were reported from the gun shots.
As for a motive for the gun fire. "No idea, that's still part of the investigation."
Investigators are appealing for witnesses to the incident or any persons who may have video surveillance, dashboard video, or any information regarding the incident.
