There is a new explanation from those flirty cops now under investigation by the Toronto Police professional standards unit.
A series of videos posted online appear to show the officers playfully handcuffing women at a downtown bar, driving them in the backseat of their cruiser while playing music on YouTube.
One of the officers involved spoke to CTV Toronto and suggested he regularly stops in at bars to "make sure everything is okay" and told reporter Tracy Tong he was just "executing positive community policing"
According to the Toronto Sun the officers told their colleagues they were just trying to "lighten the mood and create goodwill while safely transporting some women."
The two officers from a downtown division remain on duty during the investigation. Punishment could range from a slap on the wrist to losing their jobs.
