Street racing between two vehicles may be to blame for a fatal crash in Scarborough late Saturday night.
The accident occurred near McCowan Road south of Ellesmere just after 10 p.m.
The male victim slammed into a telephone pole, reportedly the result of high speed racing with a 2nd vehicle, and was pronounced dead on scene.
Const. Rob Reid told NEWSTALK 1010 Sunday morning witnesses confirmed two vehicles were involved.
"Witnesses have told us that they saw the vehicle involved and a second one. They were both travelling at a high rate of speed, their words not ours. One of them lost control and struck the pole.
We are investigating street racing as a factor in the crash."
The 2nd vehicle remained on scene and co-operated with police.
