Halton Regional Police have charged a suspect in connection with a shooting at a shopping plaza in Oakville that has left a 35-year-old man fighting for his life in hospital.
It happened at Trafalgar Road and Cornwall Road August 4, around 11 a.m.
The victim was seen in a diner in the plaza having breakfast moments before he was shot. He remains in hospital in critical condition.
A suspect who ran from the scene was apprehended a short distance away. Police announced Sunday he has been charged in the incident.
21-year-old Marley Dorphelus from Montreal has been charged with attempted murder. He appeared in court via video link Saturday and was remanded into custody until Tuesday August 8.
Police are still looking for two other suspects.
The first described as a black male, around 6', 200 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing a dark shirt and dark pants.
The second a black male, between 5'9" and 5'10". He had his hair in cornrows. Police say he was possibly wearing white shorts.
