On the first weekend that Toronto entered Stage 3 of reopening, Toronto Public Health says only 14 establishments were visited by inspectors.
Officials tell NEWSTALK 1010 that six inspectors were out the evenings of July 31st and August 1st. Only one warning was given out.
They are numbers that piqued the interest of City Councillor Shelley Carroll.
She promised on Moore in the Morning, to find out what happened.
"If it's going to take six inspectors that long to do 14 restaurants, then we're not going to get to them all and we really do need too," Carroll said.
She said she'd get answers by the end of the day.
Carroll suggested there may be an explanation. She says inspectors are often called away to deal with other issues.
