Despite being asked nine times for an answer on whether or not she'll implement a new system for hiring OPP commissioners in the future, the Ontario minister in charge of the file couldn't say yes or no.
"We have announced a new OPP Commissioner and we're going ahead with him," Sylvia Jones said Tuesday, one of the common responses to the question posed by various reporters.
Last week, Commissioner David Wake cleared Premier Doug Ford of any political wrongdoing in connection to the controversial hiring of Ron Taverner as OPP Commissioner last November.
During the controversy, Taverner eventually pulled himself from consideration.
