Ontario's police watchdog is probing the death of a man outside a police detachment in the eastern part of the province.
Ontario Provincial Police say the man got into an altercation with officers outside the detachment in Morrisburg, Ont. shortly after 11:00 on Saturday morning.
Police say the man was killed during the altercation and an officer is being treated for undisclosed injuries.
The Special Investigations Unit issued a tweet describing the incident as a ``police-involved shooting,'' but did not immediately release further details.
Neither the police watchdog nor police have released details of the man's age or identity.
The SIU is automatically brought in to review all deaths or serious injuries that involve police.
