There have been 43 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario, marking the biggest one-day jump in new cases, so far.
This brings the total in the province to 258.
There are still five listed as resolved, and two deaths linked to COVID-19 - the latest was a Milton man in his 50's with underlying health issues, according to Halton Region Public Health.
Nearly 4,000 cases are being investigated and more than 12,000 tests have come back negative.
Looking at the new numbers, eight people from Toronto are among the new positive cases, with three in Peel Region, two in Halton Region and one in Durham, Waterloo and Haliburton.
Among the cases, 12 are travel-related, one is listed as being a close contact of another patient and the remaining 30 have their means of transmission listed as “pending.”
One of the patients, a man in his 80s in Durham Region, is the only person listed as being hospitalized due to the virus. The rest are in self-isolation or listed as “pending.”
