Relatives of two seniors who died at a London nursing home where Elizabeth Wettlaufer worked want the OPP to investigate their deaths.
William Brennan, a lawyer representing both families has made the request.
Wettlaufer, a former nurse charged with the first-degree murder of eight patients in her care made a brief court appearance by video Thursday. Her case will return to court in Woodstock on January 6.
The charges are tied to patients who died at Woodstock's Caressant Care and London's Meadow Park between 2007 and 2014.
Brennan's clients' relatives lived at Meadow Park while Wettlaufer was employed there. They want to know what kind of access she had to their loved ones and whether she might have had role in their death.
OPP Sgt. Dave Rektor would not say whether those particular deaths were being examined.
"This is an ongoing investigation," Rektor tells NEWSTALK 1010. "We continue to follow up on numerous leads that have been and continue to be provided to the investigative unit. We are not in a position to confirm any further details of this active investigation. "
