On this holiday long weekend, Ontario Provincial Police are reminding motorists to slow down and - if safe to do so - move over, when they spot an emergency vehicle with lights flashing at the side of the road.
The OPP says it's the law to do so, and they'll be watching motorists on Ontario's highways all weekend long to make sure you follow the rules.
"This is my office," OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says in a Periscope video. "Police, fire and ambulance, MTO, tow trucks, road service maintenance, all sorts of people are out here on the roads every single day."

"All we're asking is that when you see a stopped emergency vehicle or tow truck, you slow down and you move over."
Since 1989, a total of five officers have been killed by passing motorists, while last year alone, six OPP cruisers were struck from behind by drivers.
