Ontario Provincial Police have released a composite sketch of the man they say dragged one of their officers on Hwy 400.
It happened before 1 a.m. on July 3rd in the highway's southbound lanes near Finch Ave.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says the veteran officer was talking with a driver after making a traffic spot on the left shoulder of the highway. Schmidt couldn't say why the driver was pulled over. But he decided to take off.
"At that point the officer became entangled in the car, was dragged a short distance while the vehicle driver was fleeing from the area," Schmidt explains.
Police describe the car as a dark-coloured newer Audi, likely from model years 2013-2017 with a distinctive brake light that runs across the top of the rear window. The Audi may have damage to the driver's side.

Schmidt says the sketch was composed based on recollections of the officer who was dragged.
While Schmidt would not detail his injuries, the officer is said to be recovering at home and is expected to make a full recovery.
