The province announced this week that as of Friday, all daycares in Ontario would be able to open their doors and start accepting children again.
There are certain requirements that must be followed, so some may be able to open sooner than others.
The YMCA of Greater Toronto is one that won't be able to open up on Friday.
With 300 locations, it's not as easy as simply unlocking the doors.
"It is important to understand that this is not turnkey," says the YMCA to NEWSTALK 1010 in a release. "Over the past two months we have been providing emergency child care to essential service workers, so we understand the elements of opening and the provision of high quality, safe child care and expect it will take a bit of time to open our centres."
At this point though, the Y can't say when any of those daycares would be open.
Officials would only say they are working with their partners in the school boards including the TDSB, to try and figure out solutions.
