Toronto Pastor Brent Hawkes was back at his church giving sermons to his congregation on Sunday, for the first time since being found not guility of gross indecency and indecent assault.
A judge handed down the verdict on Tuesday saying he found significant inconsistencies in the testimonies of the witnesses.
Hawkes has been the senior pastor at the Metropolitan Community Church for almost 40 years.
He officiated Canada's first legal gay marriage and NDP leader Jack Layton's funeral.
He is known as a vocal proponent of same-sex marriage, and in 2007 was appointed to the Order of Canada.
