Thousands of drivers were frustrated on Thursday morning when a tipped over box truck, meant all lanes of the southbound side of the Don Valley Parkway were shut down.
Traffic was halted for two and a half hours, while recovery crews unloaded the truck, and stacked the cargo onto a waiting vehicle from the same company.
The reason, was that the insurance companies take over to make sure the goods in the truck aren't damaged any futher.
A PC MPP from Thornhill, thinks two and a half hours is unacceptable.
Gila Martow has asked on three occasions to set up an advisory committee to look at ways to better clean up accidents on highways. All three times, it's been shot down.
And when it comes to the insurance company taking over, she thinks they should have to chip in.
"I understand how they feel, but maybe the insurance companies should then pay for a special team of experts who have the equipment and the ability, to get in there and unload stuff quickly." says Martow.
