A Progressive Conservative MPP has been tossed from the party's caucus after voting against a PC bill.
Belinda Karahalios is the MPP for Cambridge. She voted against Bill 195, which would have extended the provincial government's pandemic-related emergency powers.
She called it anĀ "unnecessary overreach of our parliamentary democracy."
Premier Ford's office sent a statement tonight, saying Karahalios will no longer be sitting as a caucus member, adding that the province's first priority is the health and safety of all Ontarians, and Bill 195 is an important piece of legislation that protects every citizen during the pandemic.
