Provincial police say a woman is in life-threatening condition after she was struck by a car on a highway west of Toronto.
They say the incident happened late Thursday night when the woman got out of a vehicle on the highway in Oakville, Ont., and began walking on the road.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said she was narrowly missed by one vehicle before being struck by another.
He said she was rushed to hospital and remains on life support.
Police have not released the woman's name.
The investigation is still ongoing and the highway has reopened after being closed for several hours overnight.
