A pedestrian was killed when they were struck by a vehicle as they walked along Highway 403 in Mississauga Tuesday night
The OPP telling NEWSTALK 1010 that the collison occurred just before 7:20 p.m. on the Eastbound lanes near Hurontario street.
But according to Const. Taylor Konkle, the circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear.
"Right now it is undetermined on why the pedestrian was on the highway. We are going to be looking at all angles to see where that pedestrain came from."
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and Konkle confirms investigators will be taking a look at the onboard computer to gain information.
"Right now we don't know if he was changing lanes or what his speed was at the time. And determine speed to see if any signals were on , to see if the vehicle made any sudden movements at that time. It's all going to be investigated."
Konkle confirmed Hwy 403 eastbound lanes are expected to be closed from Erin Mills Pkwy for the next few hours as collision reconstruction units investigate.
