The Chief of Peel Police has ordered a review into the case where a 6-year-old girl was put in handcuffs at a Mississauga school.
Originally, police said the girl was cuffed as a way of protecting herself and those around her because she was acting 'extremely violent'.
Sgt Josh Colley says the review will look at several things including the response by police and the actions of officers to ensure that best practices were used during that incident.
It was back in September when the girl was allegedly acting out.
Police were called and tried several de-escalation techniques before resorting to the handcuffs.
The girl wasn't hurt, but had cuffs put on her wrists and ankles.
A human rights complaint has been filed.
