Peel Regional Police have charged a 27 year veteran with the service.
Detective David Warren was charged with Obstruction of Justice and Breach of Trust by a Public Officer.
Why?
We don't know.
Police have been very quiet when it comes to releasing details.
They would only say that Warren is due in court on May 15th, and that he's been suspended with pay until the issue makes its way through the courts.
"We hold our employees to a higher standard and we expect them to be exemplary members of the community. These charges are of a serious nature and it is important for the community to know that these allegations do not reflect the good work being done each day by the 2,000 plus police officers within Peel Regional Police," said Chief Jennifer Evans in a release.
Police couldn't expand on the charges, saying the issue was now before the courts.
