An officer with Peel Regional Police is facing charges of assault, in connection with an arrest that happened back in March.
The province's Special Investigations Unit says it started in a stairwell on Orenda Road in Brampton back on March 25th.
The man approached by cops, took off and was arersted a short time later. The SIU says he was released shortly after that arrest.
But it was later that day, when he showed up to hospital with serious injuries.
Both police and the SIU can't say what kind of injury the man sustained.
Constable Scott Douglas is facing one count of assault and will be in court next month.
