Peel Police say one of their officers is off the job after being charged with assault and sexual assault.
Constable Prabhjot Singh has been suspended with pay.
In a news release, Peel Police say Singh and the victim know each other and, "there is no risk to public safety."
They haven't released any details on the nature of the relationship or what led to the charges.
Singh is a two-year member of the force assigned to general patrol.
He's due in court on May 29th.
