Have you gotten to the "I cut my own hair" stage of lockdown yet?
If you live outside of the GTA or are willing to travel, you'll soon be able to get a professional to fix your home job.
Earlier this week the premier announced that most areas of the province would begin Stage 2 of the reopening plan, which means hair salons, restaurants, and nail salons among other industries will be able to open up starting Friday.
For Guelph's Campus Estates Salon stylist Betty Whelan, it's a mix of excitement and nerves.
"Sure, it's exciting, it's overwhelming, it's a multitude of emotions, so to speak," she says.
Stringent measures will be in place to keep stylists and customers safe. That includes a maximum of 10 people allowed in the salon at a time, no waiting area inside, sanitization in between styles, and staggering shifts.
"Everybody has to come on time and they have to call us and let us know. There's no waiting area, or will be at that point," Whelan says. "Stylists need 15 minutes also to clean up so (the customers will) be waiting in their vehicle or however that's going to work out."
Whelan says the salon has put a priority on seniors. Usually the salon isn't open on Mondays, but next Monday they will be open for seniors day.
"They're obviously the most terrified of it all, some aren't but some are, and they need to have a little bit of a special consideration," Whelan says.
So far there's a little bit of room next week to get a quick trim, but if you're looking for a larger service like hair colouring, you'll be waiting at least a few weeks.
Campus Estates Salon will open on Saturday.
