Police say there is a man walking the streets of Toronto who sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl at day camp.
Investigators say the incident happened on Tuesday morning at a facility near Dundas St and University Ave.
Const. Jennifer Sidhu says that there is a day camp in the area that is mostly held indoors, and it was inside the facility that a man walked up to a young girl and started a conversation. She says he sexually assaulted the girl and then took off.
Police are not revealing the name of the day camp or the exact address because they do not believe the man was affiliated with the camp.
Sidhu adds that camp officials are aware of what happened and have increased security to prevent a similar incident.
Police do not know why the man was in the building where this happened.
The suspect is described as white, about 30 to 50 years old, six feet tall with a thin build, black hair, and a beard. He was wearing black sunglasses, a light-coloured shirt, dark shorts, and red sneakers.
