Toronto Police say Andrew Smith, the man who escaped custody at Mount Sinai Hospital last week, has been arrested.
Constable David Hopkinson says a tip from the public lead police to a cafe near King Street West and Charlotte Street where Smith was, "arrested without incident."
He had been in jail on allegations of possession of a dangerous weapon and for allegedly threatening the death of a security officer at the University of Toronto downtown. Hopkinson says he'll now be charged with escape lawful custody.
Smith had been taken to Mount Sinai last Wednesday after complaining of a medical problem.
He managed to get away from officers and had been on the run ever since.
