Police west of Toronto say they've made an arrest after a man allegedly shot a woman in August and stole a police cruiser when officers responded.
Peel Regional Police say the incident began in Mississauga on the afternoon of Aug. 13, when officers responded to a call of a shooting.
They say they arrived on scene to find a woman suffering from gunshot wounds and said the suspect had fled the scene.
Officers were able to locate the man nearby, at which point he allegedly stole a police cruiser during an interaction.
Investigators say the man eventually abandoned the police cruiser nearby.
A 31-year-old suspect was arrested on Thursday and faces charges of attempted murder, assault and motor vehicle theft.
