Toronto Police are on the lookout for a man wanted in a firearms investigation.
On Wednesday May 9th, officers stopped a car for a Highway Traffic Act violation in the Sentinel Road and Finch Avenue West area.
Police allege there were three men in the car and could see a quantity of alcohol open in the car, so the men were removed.
Officers searched the car for more alcohol and instead found a bag with narcotics. One of the three men grabbed the bag from the officers and ran. The other two also took off.
The first man was chased and seen throwing away an object that turned out to be a loaded Browning Hi-Power 9 mm semi-automatic pistol. He eventually escaped.
The other two men were caught and arrested a short distance away. Police recovered a loaded Ruger .357 magnum revolver during their arrest. They also located a quantity of marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia.
The two suspects arrested are identified as 18 year old Amiin Mohamoud of Toronto and 18 year old Zarie Pitamba also of Toronto. Both are facing multiple charges including possession of restricted firearms and possession schedule II substance for trafficking.
They appeared in court at Old City Hall Thursday May 10th.
The man that escaped has been identified by police as 18 year old Devante Virgo of Toronto AKA "Little Bucky".
He is wanted for multiple offences including possession of a restricted fire arm and possession schedule II substance for trafficking.
Virgo is described as 5'7", 140 lbs., with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his inner forearm.
He is considered to be armed, violent and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
