Toronto Police are at an apartment in the Thorncliffe Park area as part of the investigation into the Danforth shooting.
In a release put out Monday evening, police said they were executing a search warrant at an apartment in the Thorncliffe Park Drive area.
When asked by NEWSTALK1010, they would not reveal the address or any other circumstances surrounding the warrant.
However, according to CP24, police are guarding the door of a 7th floor unit at 43 Thorncliffe Park Drive. Residents interviewed say the suspect - 29-year-old Faisal Hussain - lived in the building.
Earlier Monday afternoon, the Special Investigations Unit revealed Hussain as the suspect. His family also released a statement, saying he was suffering from severe mental health issues.
"You couldn't tell. He seemed fine," Aamir, who knew Hussain, told CP24. "Everytime he saw you, he'd smile, greet you. Polite, respectful, humble, quiet, kept to himself."
"Didn't talk to a lot of people," he added. "I felt special because he was open with me, right? I guess he trusted me, but beyond that, when I heard this is what happened, I can't put two and two together. I can't believe it's him"
