Toronto Police say a 33-year-old man is under arrest in connection to two separate homicides, more than seven months apart.
Spokesperson Katrina Arrogante confirmed to NEWSTALK1010 that Ibrahim Khiar of Toronto was arrested on Wednesday, but did not yet have information on what charges he is facing.
The first incident took place on July 1, 2018 in Kensington Market.
Shots rang out at about 10:30 p.m. near College and Augusta, injuring four people. One of the victims - 19-year-old Marcel Teme - died of his injuries three days later.
At that time, an arrest warrant had been issued for Khiar.
The second incident took place in the early morning hours of February 8, 2019 at a club near Queen and Parliament.
That shooting took the life of 24-year-old Jaunoi Christian of Brampton.
Khiar faces one count of second degree murder and three counts of discharge firearm endangering life in the Canada Day shooting.
In the more recent case, he faces one count of first degree murder and nine other firearms related offences.
He's scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
