Toronto Police are giving up on a new high-tech gunshot detecting system over concerns of legal issues.
It's called ShotSpotter and it involves setting up microphones that help police find the exact location of a shooting.
It was given the go ahead by city council back in July during a summer filled with shootings.
At the time, some councillors raised concerns about privacy issues although the company that makes the system says it can't eavesdrop on conversations.
It was expected to cost almost $1.3-million in the first year.
