Toronto police have released more information about what caused a fatal motorcycle crash over the weekend.
A 35-year-old woman was killed when two motorcycles and a car collided on the Bayview Ave extension near the Evergreen Brick Works Saturday evening.
Police say all three were travelling northbound.
The driver of a Honda Accord was trying to make a U-turn at a curve in the road, after leaving the off-ramp from the DVP, when the motorcycles crashed into the side of the car, according to investigators.
Police say the driver of the Honda was making an illegal U-turn.
The female motorcyclist was trapped under the car, and later died in hospital. A 46-year-old man on the other motorcycle received non-life threatening injuries.
Constable Clint Stibbe says it is too early in the investigation to say if any charges will be laid.
