Police say they have found the van allegedly used in the violent kidnapping of a Chinese national from an underground parking garage in Markham, Ont.
York Regional Police say the vehicle, a black wheelchair accessible van, was found somewhere in Toronto on Sunday night.
Police are still looking for Wanzhen Lu, 22, who also goes by the name "Peter."
Const. Andy Pattenden says Lu was walking with his friend toward an elevator in the parking garage around 6 p.m. on Saturday when three men got out of a van and ambushed him, shocking him numerous times with a stun gun and forcing him into the van.
Pattenden say members of Lu's family are on their way to Canada as the hunt for their son and his alleged kidnappers continues.
He says that police have not made contact with the kidnappers, and to his knowledge no ransom demands have been made.
Police have released photos of three of four people considered suspects in the case.
