Hundreds of drivers were ticketed for breaking the new rules along King St during a year-long pilot project.
Toronto police handed out 560 tickets over five days last week, the first week they were handing out fines.
The pilot project that forces drivers to turn right between Bathurst St and Jarvis St launched two weeks ago, but police were only warning drivers about breaking the rules during the first week.
The blitz last week saw 10 officers keeping an eye out for those who were still driving through intersections.
The first three days, they stopped about 120 or 130 drivers per day. That dropped to just over 80 on Thursday and Friday.
Sgt. Brett Moore says the most common excuses from drivers were that they didn't know, or knew about the new rules but didn't understand them.
Breaking the rules on King St comes with a $110 fine and two demerit points.
