Toronto Police are looking for at least four suspects in connection to a fatal shooting in North York Thursday night.
The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Anthony Martin of Maple, Ontario.
A second man was wounded and rushed to hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
The shooting happened on Gosford Boulevard, near Shoreham Drive, around 8:30 p.m.
Police say four of the suspects entered the northwest entrance of 89 Gosford Boulevard.
They allege that three of the men discharged firearms in the direction of six men, who had been socializing in the common area, playing dominoes.
When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the men was taken to hospital. There's no word on his condition at this time.
A second man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The fatality now or the homicide is a group of middle-aged men that are just socializing. This other, apparently unrelated incident, is again just a discharging of firearms to the point where from the outside looking in, in the absence of any other information, it almost appears as though these individuals are playing some sort of live video game in their mind - for what purpose, I can't tell you. Either way, it's very very disturbing and concerning to all of us that we get these individuals off the street," said Detective Sergeant Terry Browne.
Police say the suspects got in to a silver 4-door sedan and fled the area.
Police believe the four suspects are linked to shots fired on Driftwood Avenue, near Jane Street, just two hours earlier.
No reports of injuries in that incident.
Today, police located an abandoned 2020 Toyota Corolla, in the Jane Street and Sheppard area.
Investigators strongly believe this vehicle is connected to both of these shooting incidents.
Police have vague descriptions of the suspects at this time.
They say two of the men appear to be tall, with thin builds, while a third is significantly larger in build than the first two.
Police are asking anyone with information, dashcam video or surveillance footage in the areas in question, around the time of these shootings, to contact investigators at 416-808-7400 or call anonymously at Crime Stoppers.
This is Toronto's 54th homicide of the year.
