Two men are in hospital Saturday evening after a shooting in North York.
Toronto Police say it happened just after 5 p.m., near Leslie just north of Finch, at the corner of Leslie and Tree Sparroway.
"Initially six shots were heard, followed by 20 shots shortly after," Toronto Police spokesperson Katrina Arrogante told NEWSTALK1010 Saturday evening. "A vehicle was seen in the area fleeing the location, and vehicles have been damaged at the location as well. We've also found some shell casings in the area."
Arrogante says the two male victims took themselves to a local hospital. She didn't have information on the extent of their injuries.
However, "as they arrived at the hospital, it had been determined by the hospital staff that one person needed to be transported to another hospital," she said.
That victim is now at a trauma centre.
Police do not believe anyone else was injured in the shooting.
Officers are continuing to investigate the scene. They're also searching for the vehicle that fled the area, but they don't have a description at this point.
There's no word on suspects.
