Toronto Police say they're investigating "third-party" information in the area of Mount Olive Drive and Silverstone Drive.
That's led to three schools in the area being placed on a hold and secure as a precaution.
Police say North Albion Collegiate, John D Parker, and Smithfield Middle School are all under hold and secure, which limits movement into and out of the school.
The investigation is ongoing, but police say there is no imminent threat in the area.
The Toronto District School Board says at one point, there were 11 schools placed under hold and secure. This stemmed from a potential threat to Highfield Junior School on Mount Olive Drive.
Spokesperson Ryan Bird says when staff were made aware of the threat, they immediately placed the school into lockdown, and called Toronto Police.
When police arrived, it was lifted to a hold and secure while they investigated the area.
Bird says parents have nothing to be concerned about, and that learning is continuing as usual.
