Toronto Police have laid charges in a crash on the Gardiner, that left a man dead.
You'll remember the details surrounding this collision, where one vehicle had pulled over on the shoulder of the westbound lanes near Royal York.
But police say it was while the driver was trying to merge back into traffic, where things went wrong.
The car was then rear-ended by another vehicle, travelling at highway speeds.
"A passenger in the Hyundai Sonata, was injured in the collision, and was later pronounced dead in hospital." says Constable Clint Stibbe from Toronto Police.
The people in the BMW that crashed into the slower moving vehicle, weren't hurt.
Now, the driver of the Hyundai, a 23-year-old man from Ottawa, is facing four charges in all.
Bishar Mussa, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Stibbe says it's important to speed up when merging.
"Use the shoulder, it's there for you to speed your vehicle up to the point where you can merge with traffic safely and avoid being caught in a collision."
