Durham police are looking for a man they say confronted a woman wearing a hijab.
At about 11 a.m. Tuesday, police say a 31-year-old woman was walking to her car in north Whitby, when a man approached her and began yelling obscenities at her.
Investigators say he told the woman to take off her hijab.
After she got into her vehicle, she told the man she was calling police, and he quickened his pace as he walked away.
He is described as white, about 50 years old, with a short stocky build and brown hair. He was wearing a green shirt and black pants.
Police add that the man had some kind of accent.
