A 12-year-old Brampton boy is sharing a frightening story of being approached by a stranger on his way home from school. Peel Regional Police call it an attempted abduction.
Police say the boy was walking home from school near Williams Pkwy and Royal Orchard Dr Thursday afternoon when he was approached by a stranger.
The man is said to have repeatedly demanded that the boy get into his car--a newer model black four-door Honda Civic or Accord.
Police say the boy ran and hid in a nearby parkette. From his hiding spot, the 12-year-old says he saw the man get out of his car and look for him before driving off.
The suspect is described as a black man, standing about 5'10 with dreadlocks and gold teeth.
Const. Heather Cannon says police are looking for anyone who may have dashcam from the area or anything else that could help them to get in touch.
"Usually when a child is reporting this, we do take that seriously. So we are basing this on the fact that this was a valid incident," Cannon told NEWSTALK 1010 Friday.
Anyone with information is asked call police at 905-453-2121 x 2233 or to contact Crime Stoppers.
