8 days after the discovery of Barry and Honey Sherman found dead inside their North York mansion, investigators continue to look for more clues into what they've deemed a suspicious case.
Forensic Identification Services arrived on scene Saturday morning to inspect the sewer system around the house. A sewage truck was also brought in to pull contents from the sewer system to be searched after they are dumped.
A Forensics officer on scene told Newstalk 1010's Hayley Cooper the sewer extraction is being done "out of an abundance of caution".
But what could the sewage system have to provide so many days after the deaths of the billionaire couple, who were found in their home suffering from ligature neck compression.
CTV Public safety analyst Chris Lewis told Daryn Jones on the Motts Saturday morning it could be one of two possibilities.
"Either they have specific information, there's something of interest in that sewer system or they're doing it out of an abundance of caution. This is certainly a bizzare one."
The perimeter around the Sherman's home will be swept, expected to last most of the day.
