The first incident occurred Wednesday night. Police officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West area around 8:55 p.m.
Reports indicated a 63-year-old woman was waiting for a TTC bus when a man grabbed her purse, got into the passenger seat of a waiting car and took off.
The car is described as a newer model white 4-door sedan, possibly a Ford. It was clean and shiny with tinted windows. It may have had a personalized licence plate 'KAAPIIYAA.'
The suspect is described as 20-25 years of age, 5'8"-5'9", with a thin build. He was wearing a grey hooded sweater with the hood up, denim vest, black or grey pants and white shoes.
Later that night around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area.
A 25-year-old woman was sitting on a wall near a parking lot when a man approached, pushed her to the ground, and grabbed her purse.
The suspect got into a waiting car and sped away.
That car is described as a white sedan, possibly a newer Honda model. It had a rear licence plate with eight letters which possibly included 'AJFK.'
The suspect is described as early 20's, 5'8", thin build, beard, and long black hair in a ponytail. He was wearing white pants, a white sweater, and a black jacket. He had a silver chain around his neck.
Investigators believe the same man is responsible for both of these robberies.
