Police are warning people in Mississauga to keep their eyes open and bags close after four purse snatchings thought to have been committed by the same man in less than two weeks.
The thefts were committed between February 13 and 26 around Hurontario St and Dundas St W. In all four cases women were approached from behind by a man on a bicycle.
One victim was dragged about 20 ft clinging to her purse after the thief grabbed it. She suffered minor injuries. Police believe it was the second purse the man had snatched that day--the first instance about 15 minutes earlier.
Peel Regional Police const. Rachel Gibbs encourages people living in the area to be alert about their surroundings and to let their bag go if someone grabs it to avoid getting hurt.
The suspect is described as white, aged 20-25, wearing a silver jacket and what may be a dark-coloured hooded top. He was pedalling a black and red bike.
