A new poll finds the average travel time in Toronto is now 42 minutes, up from 39 minutes six years ago.
Forum research spoke to 1,000 people in Toronto. Nine out of 10 said they commute to work or school.
Of those, 20 percent reported a short commute; 15 to 30 minutes but 17 percent said their commute takes between 45 minutes and an hour.
It seems public transit users are the hardest hit. Their commute takes an average of 52 minutes versus 40 minutes in a car.
Almost two-thirds of commuters say the time they spend in the car or on transit reduces their quality of life.
